Kerry Wood Says Hi To The Viewing Audience

Saturday, June 28, 2008

The White Sox and Cubs were tied in the 7th inning today when FOX decided to go to a quick shot of Kerry Wood. Well Wood had a message for the viewing audience....

I don't think there has ever been a more perfectly timed shot of an MLB player in the history of television. Good work FOX and a great job by you Thom Brennaman playing it off.

Awesome. I don't like the Cubs but kudos to Kerry Wood.

"There, you get a look at Kerry Wood." -- Thom

Indeed, Thom. A look at his two birds, as well!

Good think Joe Buck wasn't there. He'd have called for Kerry to be sentenced to the electric chair.

Wood must think that cameraman is #1.

It's also a good thing that Mike Patrick wasn't there. He probably would have fainted out of sheer shock. Actually, on second thought, that wouldn't be such a bad thing after all.

Perhaps Kerry Wood is still clinging to the Dusty Bakerian notion that Cub failures are the broadcasting team's fault. But my guess is either A.J. Pierzynski was mooning Wood, or White Sox fans were making shanking motions in Wood's direction.

Kerry Wood injured his left shoulder with that motion and will miss 4 to 6 weeks.
