Madden 2009 Soundtrack Released

Wednesday, July 09, 2008

I know a ton of you have rather eclectic music tastes which is why you should be happy with the music selections that the newest edition of Madden has come up with. The news doesn't stop there though. The artists are going to get the star treatment with a feature in Billboard Magazine and appearances on Kimmel Live starting August 4th. Via Kotaku....

EA seems to want to make it clear that the announcement of Madden 09's official soundtrack is an event, and music boss Steve Schnur told Kotaku about a few more promotions to drive the point home: First, Target's pre-order bonus for the game will be an iTunes card that lets you download ten of the soundtrack songs free. Second, an artist from the soundtrack will be playing nightly on the Jimmy Kimmel Show beginning August 4th, and third, both past and current Madden artists will play at the first-ever "Maddenpalooza," an all-day music and gaming event in conjunction with the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on August 11th.
Seems like an ingenious idea if you ask me. Many of the artists aren't as widely known and it will serve them as well as the game to be on a talk show nightly. Here's the list....

Airbourne- Stand Up For Rock ‘N Roll
Busta Rhymes feat. Linkin- Park We Made It
Disturbed- Inside The Fire
Franz Ferdinand- Lucid Dreams
From First To Last- Worlds Away
Gym Class Heroes- I’m Home
Hollywood Undead- Undead
In Flames- The Mirror’s Truth
Innerpartysystem- Don’t Stop
Izza Kizza- Millionaire
K’NAAN- ABC’s
Kardinal Offishall feat. Lindo P- Burnt
Kidz In The Hall- Blackout
KOVAS- Wax On, Wax Off
Mindless Self Indulgence- Never Wanted To Dance
Rev Theory- Hey Yeah
Senses Fail- Wolves At The Door
Shinedown- Devour
The All-American Rejects- The Real World (Demo)
The Fashion- Like Knives
The Offspring- Hammerhead
Trivium- Into The Mouth Of…We March
Tyga- Diamond Life
Underoath- Desperate Times, Desperate Measures
Wale feat. Southeast Slim- Breakdown
Young Dre The Truth feat. Good Charlotte- Workin’

Well, at least Franz Ferdinand is pretty cool. Linkin Park can go away now, though.

Yeah, that Franz Ferdinand track is making its debut in Madden 09. I'm still waiting for the new album.

If there is no Three Doors Down or REO Speedwagon singing Take Me Out To The Ballgame, I refuse to buy this game.

Scott: Yes, you're right. But the Madden soundtrack songs are always edited, so they edit out "hell"...they probably had them re-record a version with "hey" in it, I'm sure

I've only heard of four or five of those groups and couldn't recognize a song by any one of them if you paid me a million dollars to do so.

Wale, Tyga (that song is sick... the rest, eh), the Kardinal, Kidz in the Hall...

For the first time in 3 years I might actually have to buy Madden. Although I don't support Favre as cover boy or the direction Madden has been heading in since they acquired the exclusive NFL rights this year's looks like it may have some actual innovation. Plus it will be the first one that could possibly use the Wii's full capability and looks like a good soundtrack.

I think every EA game I've bought since Madden 08 (NHL, FIFA, both NASCAR games) have had a song by Airbourne on it. At least they're decent. And woot Franz Ferdinand!

Another correction. It's "Busta Rhymes feat. Linkin Park - We Made It", not "Busta Rhymes feat. Linkin - Park We Made It".

Overall, this looks like one of the better soundtracks EA has put out. I've never seen an EA sports soundtrack with so many groups that I like (and for that matter, recognize).

MSI?!?!? Some kid is going to get warped and some parent is going to explode.

Do yourselves a favor and check outh Mindless Self Indulgence's cover of Rush's Tom Sawyer. Really, like Rush or hate Rush, check it out.

"When I say 'We", you say 'Suck'"

I heard that SHEECK was on this Madden Sound track I don't see the song. I heard it on myspace and youtube. It's the tightest rap song I heard on Madden, it talks about everthing you go through while playing.

hahahahaha

OMG.

MSI is on Madden? Wow. This is one of those things I thought would never happen. Their last album really pushed them mainstream I guess...

I really hate how they edited the word "life" out of Inside the Fire.
