Your 2009 Sports Emmy Award Nominees

Thursday, April 02, 2009

Every year I post these, and every year it seems like those in the business have no idea what they're doing. The same terrible personalities are nominated (Berman, Buck, McCarver), and the same shows win every year. The only difference this year, is that the Academy actually threw a couple of curveballs at us. They've added some new people to the list, and while some are spot on like Tom Jackson, there are those that just boggle the mind....like John Kruk.

Anyway, here's the list, feel free to complain or choose your winners in the comments. The event is April 27th, and I'll be sure to share the winners with you when they are released.

The X-Games? Really? Who is running this award show, Darkmane???

If Ernie Johnson doesn't win best host, fuck the world.

PTI really needs to be Inside the NBA one of these years.

Of course, it should have happened when PTI was still doing skits and they talked about more than just the NBA/NFL/MLB/Tiger.

NHL Network's "On the Fly" is pretty good for highlights. Think "Sportscenter" before the egos and endless self-promotion took over. It might not be eligible since it is a Canadian production.

Daily Studio Show: NFL Live if on the Fly not eligible.
